Abstract

The technological revolution has reshaped knowledge acquisition and created new challenges for employability in Costa Rica. In response, FUNDEPOS University announces a groundbreaking change: starting in the first quarter of 2026, 100% of its academic programs will include microcredentials, making it the first university in the country to adopt this comprehensive model. Microcredentials are modular certifications that validate specific skills and can be earned in short periods, such as the Executive Program in Artificial Intelligence (AI), which can be completed in two weeks. This approach offers three key benefits: Verified skills through digital badges that students can immediately add to their resumes or professional profiles. Flexible learning, thanks to a fully asynchronous virtual model that allows professionals to study without interrupting their careers. Future-focused investment, with lifetime access and continuous updates in programs like AI, in a world where knowledge evolves weekly. FUNDEPOS aims to develop tech leaders with ethical and strategic competencies to address challenges such as privacy and bias in AI. Integrating microcredentials across all academic levels ensures that every step brings students closer to becoming the authority the market and society need. This decision is not merely administrative but a statement of principles: education must be as dynamic as the world around us. FUNDEPOS invites businesses and future leaders to embrace this transformation, where learning is measured by certified skills rather than waiting for a traditional degree.
